What’s it like to live in a new-build home at Farefield Close in Dalton? One of our happy new house owners shows us around his new home.
If you’re unaware of this little North Yorkshire village on the outskirts of Thirsk, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to discover such a quiet, rural retreat offering access to the A19 and adjoining M1 road networks within minutes. Dalton is a perfect countryside bolthole, ideal for commuters working in the major cities up and down the motorway, who can also take advantage of everything Thirsk market town has to offer.
Mr Browne said: “Due to my wife’s job, we needed a house within commuting distance of York and within a short distance of Huby for work and hobbies. We also wanted a good school for the children, which was our first priority. Dalton is a quiet, rural village with a good identity. It is very close to Thirsk and the A1M. York to the south and Middlesborough to the north are only 30 minutes away.”
Why Farefield Close?
The adjoining Willow Bridge Lane is now lined with beautiful new Whitfield homes designed sympathetically to blend with the surrounding village - with all homes now occupied. Farefield Close extends the new community where 43 homes are set to bring even more life to the village, with homes available to reserve off plan now.
“We had visited a few new-build housing developments in the north of York, but the build quality of Whitfield Homes at Farefield Close was far superior to others we had seen,” says Mr Browne.
What’s it like inside?
Mr Browne is the first to move into a new Whitfield Homes housetype. It’s a striking four bedroom property with an additional home office, which Mr Browne loves. The living space features an open-plan kitchen-dining room featuring bi-folding doors onto the garden. There’s a large living room and also a handy utility room and integral garage, offering plenty of storage space.
“The home fitted our large family requirements and we liked the size of the rooms. The layout of the house is great and we love the south-facing garden with the bi-folding doors in the kitchen,” says Mr Browne.
Why Whitfield Homes?
Whitfield Homes specialise in building quality, high-specification new homes in desirable countryside locations across North Yorkshire such as Dalton in Thirsk. Whitfield Homes design properties with modern features on the inside while the traditional architecture blends with the surroundings.
“For build quality and price I couldn't beat it. We had never bought off plan before but were talked through the process and involved in choosing fixtures and fittings and colour schemes so it was as we wanted the day we moved in,” says Mr Browne.
